The Midwest Dairy Institute is an operating 2000 cow dairy farm owned and operated by the Milbank Community Foundation. The cows are milked three times a day on a 40 stall rotary parlor. Housing for the lactating cows is in free stall barns bedded with digester solids. The dry cows and springing heifers are housed in a compost pack barn. We raise our heifer calves from birth to 90 days of age before they are moved to contract heifer growers.
